One of the other chairs I posted about, the one from de vorm, kept reminding me of another classic Dutch chair. De Utrecht or Metz chair was designed by Rietveld for Metz & Co in 1936. It was his design for an easy chair. It typically has woolen fabric and white stitches. Cassina has the rights of Rietveld’s designs so they produce the chairs.

I saw this chair in a store the other day, it had a ochre yellow fabric, which fits so well with the robust wooden armrests. I love the simplicity of the design and the sort of Scandinavian mid century style. Apparently, it’s made by a young Dutch brand called De vorm. They work with young designers, in this case Annet Neugebauer, and their products are made in Holland as well.
