Finally, I found another for my list. The Cooper chair is from New York based Dwellstudio. Unfornunatlly not available in Europe. How I would love to read a book in this one!

This year, it the 100th birth year of Finnish design Kaj Franck. He is known for his timeless and functional designs for iittala. For this special occasion, iittala brought back the porcelain Purnukka jars he designed in 1953. They are available in the current Teema colors. The pearl grey, turquoise and terracotta are my definitely favorite!

One of the other chairs I posted about, the one from de vorm, kept reminding me of another classic Dutch chair. De Utrecht or Metz chair was designed by Rietveld for Metz & Co in 1936. It was his design for an easy chair. It typically has woolen fabric and white stitches. Cassina has the rights of Rietveld’s designs so they produce the chairs.

These candle holders and molecule set from Ferm living have such amazing retro colors. Mustard, coral, mint and steel blue is the perfect combination!

The other one on my sofa-wishlist is Hella Jongerius Polder sofa for Vitra.
The Dutch landscape was the final inspiration for this couch, as you can see from the fantastic selections of the colors. The back of the sofa also has its own lovely quirks, the brigthly colored yarns from the buttons.
Now I found this one on sale somewhere, but no specific need for a new sofa…

Inspired by last weeks mad men’s sofa, I will post my two favorite couches ever (or at least from the last decade). The first is the sofa of fashion brand Diesel designed for Italian furniture brand Moroso. I tried it out at the Salon di Mobile, I just sunk in the cushions, wanted to kick off my shoes and stay there for the rest of the day. I never met a more comfortable couch.

I know I’m looking for a chair, not a sofa, but I almost wanted to throw my old couch out the door for this Mad men inspired sofa. It can be found at a small Utrecht shop, selling their own collection. All the names of their sofa’s are based on street names for Utrecht. This one is called Nobel.

I love the colors and shapes in the new campaign for Danish textile-design company Kvadrat. The combination of all the different sort of green are my favorite. Forest green, sea green, spring green, pastel green, emerald, i love it!

The other day went to Essen, planning to go to the red dot design museum. Unfortunately, this was on the same day as Angela Merkel. So they closed it for her. Luckily there is also another museum in the area, Ruhr museum. Here I found this kitchen from the sixties, which is perfect for my mid century color scheme.

Two charming Danish designs in one picture. The Ru chair (Shane Schneck for Hay) is very solid and functional. Not only can you stock and gang this chair but also hang them on the tables, when you need to clean your floor. You can choose one of the 7 different colors.
Now, the other design that i’m in love with is the Wood lamp (Taf architects for Muuto). Just look at the clean lines and the use of material.
